6 ways to Build a strong relationship with friends in Nigeria

Building a strong relationship with your friends is very important in the sense that you guys benefit from each other.
When the relationship is built to a certain extent, you both turn to brothers or sisters.
I will highlight different useful steps in building a strong relationship with your friends.

1. Trust.

Although it’s not advisable to trust anyone because human beings tends to change, we can’t be predicted.
Notwithstanding trusting your friend is very important because it helps build a very strong relationship.
If you or your friend face any type of accusations, because of the trust you both have for each other, you both will be able to defend and support one another.

Be open and honest with your friends about your feelings, thoughts, and experiences. Listen to their perspectives and feelings as well.

For example Ade and Joshua are very close friends and the trust one another, Joshua was accused of stealing money in the classroom, everyone sees him as a thief but because of the trust Ade have for Joshua, he came out to defend his friend telling everyone not to see his friend as a thief demanding for proper investigation.
When two friends trust one another, the tell each other their weakness and help themselves fight it.

2. Love.

Love is very important in any kind of relationship.
You could love anybody irrespective of age, gender, status etc.
When you love your friend and he or she loves you, you both will be able to make sacrifices for each other.
Even the Bible and Quran taught us to always love one another.

You can express love to your friends in different ways.
By helping your friends in any conditions.
Pray for your friends.

Assist your friends physically, mentally, psychologically, financially e.t.c
There are hundreds of ways you can express love to your friends.

3. Understanding.

In any good and mutual relationship, understanding one another is very important.
Relationship are prone to arguments or conflicts and this may lead the breaking of the relationship.

Be open and honest with your friends about your feelings, thoughts, and experiences. Listen to their perspectives and feelings as well.

But when you both understand each other, whenever there is any form of arguments, you both will understand each other then settle it amicably.
And when there is a situation in which you notice that your friend isn’t happy, you will be able to quickly notice and comfort your friend.

4. Forgiveness.

No one is perfect, and sometimes we make mistakes. Be willing to apologize when you are in the wrong and forgive your friends when they make mistakes too.

You two must be able to always forgive one another
Whatever the situation may be, always be ready to forgive your friends.
Although you might be really hurt, but post that aside and forgive your friend anytime he or she offends you.

For example, your close friend might do something wrong to you and it might hurt you, even if your friend doesn’t comes to apologize to you, go to him or her, tell your friend that he or she offended you and you are sad but you have forgiven him or her.
Your friend will feel guilty and apologize immediately.

5. Show appreciation.

Let your friends know that you appreciate them and value their friendship. Say thank you, give compliments, and express your gratitude. Spend time doing activities that you both enjoy and that allow you to connect on a deeper level. This could be anything from watching a movie to going on a hike together.

6. Support each other.

Be there for your friends during tough times, celebrate their successes, and encourage them to pursue their goals. Treat your friends with respect, kindness, and empathy. Be mindful of their boundaries and feelings.


Remember that building strong relationships takes time and effort. Be patient, consistent, and committed to building and maintaining your friendships, and they will likely grow stronger over time.
